Crimes including assault, harassment and threatening behaviour, have increased at eight major Melbourne shopping centres in the past financial year (Nov 2025)
5,901 reported crimes at thirteen major Melbourne shopping centres in the past financial year, an increase of 20 per cent on the year before. This rise was driven by thefts, which increased by nearly 30 per cent and made up two-thirds of all crime at these centres last financial year.
